Just because you are on a budget doesn’t mean that your wedding has to be less than beautiful. There are some wonderful things that you can do that will cut your costs and still allow you to create a special day that you will remember for the rest of your life.

To make sure that you stay within your budget, you have to create one. It is not enough to plan how much you are prepared to spend on the entire affair. You must also decide how the money will be allocated in advance. If you don’t know how much things will or should cost for your wedding, now is the time to do a little research. Take your time with your budget to make sure that you have it right. Include each and every aspect of your wedding from the clothes to the cake, the favors and the invitations and everything in between.

The biggest expense in your wedding budget is likely to be the location. In fact, this is likely to be a significant part of the entire cost of the big day. One of the best ways to save some money on the location is to choose a place that is open to the public. A local park or the beach are some examples of great locations for your wedding that will not cost you a dime. Another choice is an outdoor wedding in the backyard. A family member or friend might have a stunning well landscaped backyard that is the perfect choice for your wedding. Ask and you may receive.

Renting the chairs and tents for the wedding is much cheaper than buying them. Rental companies may also have many other items that you will need for the wedding such as linens for the tables and serving platters and equipment for the food. If you are not planning to have the wedding catered professionally, you may need this equipment as well. A buffet style wedding is a much less costly approach to your reception and you won’t have to hire servers.

Typically a DJ is a less expensive choice for your wedding than a live band. If you are lucky enough to know a DJ, you might just get a special price on the event. You may also know someone who is not a professional DJ, but has all of the equipment and skills to play music for your wedding. You will have to make sure that this person has everything you will need for the wedding though.

Making your own centerpieces for the table will save on the cost of the flowers and they can look every bit as stunning as something the florist would create. Choose something original for your centerpiece and no one will even wonder at the cost.
